Who are we!
Project Earth, Nature & Leadership

WorldLife is a neutral and independent organization, specialized in paying attention to those areas most dramatically affected by Climate Change. We do this by initiating, organizing and facilitating indigenous nature projects together with national and international partners.

The challenges we faced earlier and the ones we face today ask for a revolutionary different approach in Climate Change. The effects of Climate Change in combination with human behavior result in desertification, food unsecurity, the extinction and disappearance of species as well in the eco-system as marine-system. But we hardly look at the responsibility and behavior of humanity. The negative impact of plastic use, the large-scale deforestation for soy plantations and palm oil plantations, overfishing and the disappearance of coral reefs such as the disappearance of wildlife, and so on, reflect human consumption behavior worldwide.

We’re able to make an enormous change in addressing the impact of Climate Change in combination with human consumption and behavior. Together with international collaboration partners WorldLifes strives to achieve this goal within 10 years. How complex and multidisciplinairy these issues seems to. be we, the solutions. are here…

WorldLife wants to heal nature in a most comprehensive way. WorldLife started her first reforestation and food security project In Kenya. In a very arid area, WorldLife planted indigenous seedlings with the Waterboxx® Plant Icon. The resutls were very successful. Indigenous trees have grown rapidly, indigenous vegation returned, biodiversity returned and after 2.5 year the wildlife came back. Nowadays local communities live together with  indigenous nature including wildlife, due to understading of the eco – system and remembering the relation between human existance and nature.

WorldLife works also with local hands-on partners, such as one of our partners the Eco schools, spread all over Kenya. Together with these schools we teach children Nature related education and stimulate Nature focused awareness. We depend on our natural environment and a balanced ecosystem is vital for our livelihoods. We involve children by stimulating their creativity and involve them in finding concrete sustainable solutions.

Margrethe van Heeswijk, founder of WorldLife Foundation, has an internal drive to restore nature globally. She’s focused on people with a passion, ‘these are the people who are really able to create a (major) change. For Margrethe both – the top-down and the bottom-up – approach is really important to achieve this goal. On grassroots level this means realizing reforestation in combination with foodsecurity projects in corporation with local inhabitants, NGO’s and governments. Margrethe  gives lectures,  advices on decision makers level and supports companies in complex and multidisciplinary changes fully geared to the eco-system and marine system
